Riesling 2024

'K1 Vineyard'
Kuitpo, Adelaide Hills

A nod to the classic Australian style with its underlying acidity, combining an unexpected generosity of texture. This white offers both familiarity and a new take on a classic, perfect as a first glass in the arvo.

VINEYARD:
The K1 Vineyard based in Kuitpo, southern Adelaide Hills, is grown by the pioneering viticulturist, Geoff Hardy.

AROMA/FLAVOUR:
Nashi pear, floral, citrus, wet stone.

STYLE:
Fresh, silky and overt.

WHEN/WHERE TO DRINK:
The first wine to crack on arrival.

WHAT TO EAT IT WITH:
Everything from fine cheeses to spicy fragrant foods.

WINEMAKER NOTES:
I deliberately break from the traditional Riesling styles that you can find in every bottleshop. This is a progressive take on Australian Adelaide Hills Riesling, situating itself to an old world style, without any residual sugar. Its uniqueness comes from oxidative handling, and extended time on lees, though still crafted in a way that's not too austere or offensive. A real talking point wine. - Jordan
