Chardonnay 2024
'Glendhu Vineyard'
Carey Gully, Adelaide Hills
The final year of production from the Glendhu Vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley sub-region of the Adelaide Hills. This is a premium Chardonnay, with a beautifully integrated balance of fruit and oak. A little on the richer side, nutty, full-bodied and held up by its natural acidity.
VINEYARD:
A small, family owned vineyard tucked away in the Adelaide Hills. The terroir expression shows the true and high potential of Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
AROMA/FLAVOUR:
Hazelnut, matchstick and lemon cheesecake.
STYLE:
Textural, generous and refined.
WHEN/WHERE TO DRINK:
A fancy dinner, or with dinner to make it fancy.
WHAT TO EAT WITH:
This wine is generous enough on its own, but creamy, nutty, or caramelised dishes will go hand in hand.
WINEMAKER NOTES:
The last grapes from the Glendhu Vneyard go out with a bang. A little more generosity in palette weight this year, being picked a little riper. The long elevage on full solids gives it huge length and intensity, and I feel this Chardonnay has done the vineyard justice. - Jordan
