Cinsault Nebbiolo 2024
Sellicks Hill, Kuitpo
South Australia
On the knife edge of Rosé and light red, this 2024 Moorak Cinsault Nebbiolo is delicate, vibrant and crunchy. All the good things for a low-key, easy entertainer. Similar to the 23', but a little more generous. Vibrant and juicy from the Cinsault, savoury and crunchy from the Nebbiolo.
VINEYARD:
The Cinsault is from Sellicks Hill in the Fleurieu Peninsula with the Nebbiolo from Kuitpo, southern Adelaide Hills.
AROMA/FLAVOUR:
Candy, florals and red liquorice.
STYLE:
Delicate, light and chilled.
WHEN/WHERE TO DRINK:
Good seven days a week.
WHAT TO EAT WITH:
Food not required, but if desired: jerk chicken, beef tartare and chilli spice.
WINEMAKER NOTES:
The Cinsault was picked on the early ripeness side, as acid falls and to keep a lower alcohol. Pushing the maceration gives a little more generosity, particularly in texture. Though, the blend is what I love- the juiciness of Cinsault with the crunch of Nebbiolo. I think the duo are a great team.
